Solar energy
Solar energy is the world's greatest energy source. In recent years, as fossil fuel resources have been depleted, this renewable and environmentally compatible form of energy has attracted experts' attention for practical use. As a result, major investments have been made worldwide, including photovoltaic systems that convert sunlight directly into electricity.

Why photovoltaic systems?
- Reduce dependence on limited and valuable fossil fuels.
- Reduce fuel delivery difficulties and costs, especially in remote areas.
- Reduce the cost of building refineries and oil and gas transmission pipelines.
- Generate power where it is consumed, saving transmission and distribution costs and eliminating dependence on the national grid.
- Diversify energy supply sources.
- Prevent CO2 generation and help protect the environment.
- Install systems at different power ratings to match users' needs.
- Benefit from a suitable service life and straightforward operation.
- Install modules on building façades or rooftops as building materials.

Why solar in Iran?
The use of solar energy worldwide as a free energy source—in large solar farms and power plants, as well as small plants and consumer equipment—has made many countries independent of electricity imports. European and American countries in the West, and countries including Korea, China and Japan in the East, are leaders in supplying and manufacturing solar equipment and in building and operating solar power plants.

Unfortunately, Iran's vast oil, gas and electricity resources, together with limited public awareness of energy consumption practices, have held back progress in solar energy use. Nevertheless, Iran is well suited to developing this new technology for the following reasons:
Iran is a sunny country and ranks among the best countries for receiving solar energy. Each day, 5.5 kWh of solar energy reaches every square metre of land in Iran, and around 300 sunny days occur across 90% of its territory. A simple calculation shows that, if solar energy were captured on only 1% of Iran's area at a system efficiency of only 1%, it would be possible to receive 9,000,000 MWh of solar energy per day.
The country's current electricity demand is 60,000 megawatts annually. To encourage adoption, Iran's electricity distribution company guarantees purchases for 20 years, up to an annual capacity of 5,000 megawatts, at announced rates around ten times the retail electricity price, with annual adjustments. Earlier action therefore means guaranteed investment.
Iran's banking system offers financing for small customer-owned power plants, described here as the best method of investment.
The country's current scientific and industrial capabilities are sufficiently prepared to establish and expand solar technology.
Why solar for manufacturing facilities?
- Add a new production activity to your business through solar energy! Create two income streams from one facility!
- Factory roofs, production buildings and parking areas are ideal places for another form of production: electricity!
- No human labour required! Production continues even on holidays and without operator supervision!
- Recover the initial investment within 2–3 years!
- Guaranteed annual returns of more than 25%, and up to 40%—higher than bank returns!
- Long equipment life of 20–30 years and long-term warranties.
- Pre-sell electricity under a 20-year contract at a guaranteed price more than ten times the electricity price on the bill.
- Sell electricity for 20 years without marketing, advertising or sales departments.
- Expand the project gradually and without risk, according to available capital and installation space.
- Monthly adjustment of guaranteed purchase rates using inflation and exchange-rate changes.
- Payment delays of no more than two months, with proceeds deposited into the customer's nominated account every two months.
- Obtain bank financing to build small customer-owned power plants.

Why solar for residential buildings?
- With solar energy, the roof of every residential building can become a power plant!
- Produce electricity completely free of charge!
- Building expenses, including elevator charges and electricity consumption, can be covered by the proceeds of electricity sales to the distribution company.
